"CIAO JULA!"(TRIBUTO A JULA DE PALMA)

For the longest time I had the blues. Now, having discovered the good Doctor Sparkles, I have the reds, the greens, the mauves, the purples--and the paisleys! When I hear the song "Sail Away" that's literally what I do. Sail away to a whimsical, sentimental and "euphorical" place I call happiness. He makes my heart and ears giddy as can be.
Sparkle on, Doc. Sparkle on.

Yo, Doctor Sparkles:
I just found out that you moved to San Francisco: good for you. Virginia's grievous loss is the Bay Area's beneficial gain. However, your once somewhat proximity to NYC being a thing of the past is a tad sad. But, fear not!!! Your Manhattan confreres are still relentlessly promoting the humble, yet noble, fourstringer in our ongoing enterprise of heightening ukulele consciousness in this corner of the universe. Get a cabaret or other scene going out there and some of such will gladly come out to see you in hopes of expanding the territory of Modern Ukulelia. I'll remember you to Hot Time Harv McFine and Irv "J-Boy" Shyne. My best to her Ladyship and Sister Sparkles. Good luck, friend!!!

So this guy walks into a grocery store...(stop me if you've heard this one). Anyways this professionally dressed, well-behaved man walks up to me and hands me his business card. Hmm let's take a look at his card..WHAT THE (insert naughty word here). To make a long story short I quit the only job I have, left my wife to join the circus because of this webpage and am now in a small 8X6 cell with nice white walls, a warm-tight jacket with long sleeves, and listening to you playing on a ukelelee (sp?). I'm happy here now thanks to you. (singing along) dee dee di dee dee di

I happened to listed to Sail Away by accident and it touched me in a way I cannot explain. A few years ago, my daughter died in a car wreck. As sad as it made it made me feel listening to your song (over and over), it allowed me to remember her in a most beautiful way. I don’t know you, or why you wrote that song, or why I felt such a connection…I am just very grateful that you did. Thank you!

I found your site because I was bored at work and decided to research how people have attached themselves to the word "sparkles" via the internet. I must say sir, you win. You easily beat out the theme hotel in England, the soft drink, and some lady's theory on ghosts and photography. After listening to Sail Away, I immediately picked up two copies from the Elderly Instruments website. That song is impossibly good, your voice sounds like halloween in 1935, and it's saying such wistful lovely things. It warms the wine in my heart. Thanks man!

Thanks for the "Dead Man's Party" tabs, Doc! Meeting you was definitely a B-Man highlight, swooping in right in our time of need. I hope we get a cut of our 48 hour film with your entire Hell song at the end, it made it.
Sad thing is, someone sat on my Phoenix uke the last day when we were packing up. I lost my last one the same way, after some fire damage. I put the body in the burn pile, and Phoenix #3 is not far away...

omg dude, i saw you at that innuendo music fest and after hearing your song "There's a special place" i bought your CD.
i dont recomend that song for your kids show, or anyone over the age of 20 for that matter. Some people just wont find the humor in it.
but above all, its all fun and laughter, and thats a wonderful thing to spread.
so for that,
i salute you.
good luck!
P.S. i think i might pick up a uke from musiciansfriend.com for myself for like 20 bucks.

What a wonderful discovery. While strolling on Atlantic Ave. in the midst of a sea of fleshly decadence was an amazing rainbow lighthouse in the guise of Dr. Sparkles. While I was greatly satisfied with the original compositions, I was mentally floored by your rendition of "Dead Man's Party". Yes, Virginia, there is hope!

Hey Doc,
I work with your fine father at Palm. Terry handed me your CD and said he'd been instructed to pass it on to any "crazy" people at work. Well, Bingo, with a capital Bing. Congratufreakinlations man, it's ALL GOOD. Some gooder than others of course - I've put a handful of the songs on my Treo right away so that playing them won't keep my girlfriend awake while I'm looking up the lyrics on your website. I'm going to have to cut myself off now after playing See Me Home 20 times in a row - it's still sending me through the same cycle of elated chills and mild tears - grinning from head to toe throughout.
Many thanks,
Foster

I love it...
though I'm not a fan of the song with the kazoos... after all you recorded it when I had food poisoning and the darn things could be heard through the ceiling.
You have a wounderful sence of humor and the CD is driping with it. I enjoy alot of songs but I have always loved butterfly. I used to have it stuck in my head after each seson you worked on it. Congradulations Doctor Sparkles.

Dear Kevin,
I thoroughly enjoyed listening to your music trail and want to buy the album. "Sail Away, and "A Special Place" are great. I appreciate everything you are doing. You have a great range of musical talent. Janie sent me your web page and I I passed it along to Heather , Julie and Sherry. One day I hope that you and Diane's Son, Mat (Three Within", will have a chance to meet and perhaps jam. Things are going well here. My Patent for the restoration of failed leach fields, otherwise known as " The White Knight " is selling very well in most of the US, and several other countries. I made it throught the floods with 9 inches of water outside my offices at the Treatment Plant.
